The Carolina Terrier Association was formed in 2002 as a means to showcase the terrier breeds. Because of their strong will and temperament, and the coat preparation that is required for dog shows, we were seeing fewer and fewer terriers in the ring. While that is still mostly the case today, you will find the terrier breeds showcased at our events. We do two group shows in Concord, open only to terrier breeds, per year, in September and November. We also do two weekends of Earthdog tests. One in April and one in November, at our test site in Graham NC. We enjoy our dogs and events, and invite you to join us.

The CTA logo was designed by artist Susan Dunivant, and represents the breeds owned by the charter members of the club. The motto “Esse Quam Videri” is shared with the state of North Carolina and means “To Be Rather Than To Seem”.
